Top-Up Credits
One-time credits you buy whenever you need them. They never expire, carry no daily limit, and are always spent before your daily credits — so you can keep creating even after today's allowance runs out.
What Are Top-Up Credits?
Every plan gives you a daily credit allowance that resets at midnight UTC. Top-up credits are separate from that: a balance that lives on your account until you use it, bought with a single payment. Nothing about your subscription changes — you can be on the Free plan, a monthly plan, or a lifetime deal and still buy top-up credits.
What you get
- Never expires. Use 5 credits today and the rest next year — the balance waits for you.
- No daily limit. Burn the whole balance in one session if you want.
- Used first. Generations draw from your top-up balance before touching daily credits.
- Works on every tool. Articles, Auto-Optimize, the Article Visualizer, Deep Research, and Maxout Research™ all draw from it.

How to Buy
- Sign in and open the Plans page.
- Find the Need Extra Credits Anytime? section and move the slider to the amount you want. The credit total, price, and estimated output update as you drag.
- Click the Buy button. A secure Paddle checkout window opens with the amount already filled in.
- Pay by card. Your credits appear in the sidebar within a few seconds — no manual activation, no code to redeem.
Free accounts can buy top-up credits — you only need an account so the credits land in the right place. A top-up purchase is completely separate from your subscription: it doesn't start a renewal, change your plan, or cancel anything.
The Order Your Credits Are Spent
Credit usage follows one simple rule: the balance you paid for is used first.
| Order | Source | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Top-up credits | Spent first, at any hour, in any amount. Your daily allowance is left untouched while this balance is above zero. |
| 2 | Daily credits | Only start being used once your top-up balance reaches zero. |
| 3 | Both empty | Wait for the midnight UTC reset, or buy another top-up pack to keep going immediately. |
A worked example
You have 20 daily credits and buy 1,000 top-up credits. Your first generation uses 6 credits from the top-up balance, leaving 994 — and your 20 daily credits are still fully there. You can keep generating all day, every day, until the 994 runs out. Only then does the daily counter begin to move.
Where You Can See Your Balance
Sidebar
A Top-Up Credits bar sits just above your daily credits bar in the bottom-left of the app, showing what's left. It only appears once you hold at least one top-up credit.
My Account
A One-time Top Up Credits card shows the exact remaining balance, kept separate from your daily credits so the two numbers never blur together.
Payment History
The Payment History card on My Account lists every top-up purchase alongside your subscription payments — credits bought, amount charged, and date.
Top-Up, Daily, and Bonus Credits
| Type | How you get it | Does it expire? | When is it spent? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Top-up credits | One-time purchase on the Plans page | No — they sit there until used | First, before everything else |
| Daily credits | Included with your plan or free account | Reset every day at midnight UTC | After the top-up balance is empty |
| Bonus credits | Referral rewards and redeem codes | No — they are permanent | Once daily credits are used up |
Good to Know
Purchases stack
Buying again adds to what's already there. 300 credits left plus a 1,000-credit purchase equals 1,300 — you never lose an unspent remainder.
No double crediting
Each payment is matched to your account by its transaction reference and credited exactly once, even if the payment confirmation arrives twice.
Refunds go back the way they came
If a long-running job fails, its credits are returned to the same balance they were taken from — top-up credits are restored to your top-up wallet.
Your receipt
Paddle emails a receipt for every purchase. Keep it for expense records; the same detail is mirrored in your Payment History card.
